TRAIN AS A CIVIL WAR FIELD MUSICIAN in a School modeled on the School of Practice, Governors Island, New York, circa 1861.  Participants will
receive intensive instruction in Fife, Drum and Bugle in small group settings from some of the best field musicians and teachers in the country.  Experienced living
historians and military re-enactors will teach military drill and protocols relevant to field musicians.   Improve your musicianship and impression and demonstrate
your new skills at the closing ceremony and dress parade on Sunday afternoon, open to the public.

LIVE AS A CIVIL WAR SOLDIER from Reveille to Extinguish Lights.  From 7:00 pm Friday until 2:00 pm Sunday, the schedule for all activities will be
completely regulated by bugle, drum, and fife.  Registration for the school includes hearty period meals and housing in reproduction winter quarters cabins on the
grounds of Pamplin Historical Park, location of the breakthrough of Federal forces during the Siege of Petersburg and site of the best preserved earthworks
surviving today.

EXPERIENCE PAMPLIN HISTORICAL PARK by walking the Breakthrough Trail along some of America’s most pristine battlefield fortifications. The
National Civil War Field Music School will be held on the Hart Farm site at Pamplin Historical Park, but participants who choose to arrive early on Friday or stay
late on Sunday or Monday can take advantage of discounted admission to visit The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier and the Battlefield Center, along
with other portions of the Park (optional).
