Heather Faust, Executive Director
Heather Faust has been involved with the NACWBM on a volunteer basis since its earliest beginnings, helping to create The Federal City Brass Band in the summer of 2002. Heather brings to the organization a background of 15 years of administrative experience in the non-profit and educational worlds. Her previous jobs have included office manager and registrar for a professional theater training program, dean's assistant at a major university, and positions in offices and libraries on two other university campuses. She has been a progressive civilian Civil War re-enactor since 1987 and is currently a member of the Atlantic Guard Soldiers Aid Society and the 3rd US Regular Infantry, where she was Civilian Coordinator from 2002-07 and also served two terms on the unit's Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Society for Women and the Civil War. As a musician, Heather is a classically-trained singer and flutist who occasionally free-lances in the Baltimore area, and can frequently be heard singing on programs performed by The Federal City Brass Band. In addition to fulfilling the role of Executive Director, Heather also serves as Manager of The Federal City Brass Band and 26th North Carolina Regimental Band and as Registrar for The National Civil War Field Music School, manages the websites for all of the NACWBM's activities, and has produced the band's three CD recordings. She and her husband, Artistic Director Jari Villanueva, live in Catonsville, MD with their two cats.
