Welcome to The National Civil War Field Music School!

On this website you will find much information about this exciting training opportunity for Civil War field musicians, including background on field music schools of the
19th century, bios of the outstanding music faculty and military staff who will be leading the school, and registration forms and guidelines to help you prepare for your
arrival and participation.  Field musicians ages 11 through adult are welcome, and there are also opportunities for military and civilian volunteers.

The National Civil War Field Music School is sponsored by The National Association for Civil War Brass Music, Inc. (NACWBM), a non-profit organization. A primary
objective of the NACWBM is to educate musicians seeking to re-create the roles of bandsmen and field musicians of the Civil War era in the arena of living history.  The
NACWBM is also the parent organization of The Federal City Brass Band and the 26th North Carolina Regimental Band, presenting historically accurate and musically
excellent recreations of Civil War military brass bands using original instruments and music of the period.

Please take some time to look around, read the information that's posted, check out the link (on the registration page) to Pamplin Historical Park where the School will be
held, and let us know if you have any questions by e-mailing
fieldmusicschool@nationalcivilwarbrassmusic.org.  We look forward to seeing you in June!
